Cookies for Curriculum!
As mentioned in a previous post we implemented a new curriculum. In order for us to have more supplies we need more money :) If you would like to purchase some cookies from me or my adorable students please let me know. We would greatly appreciate it. Right now it takes right at 3 packs of paper to make copies for all the teachers to use for their lesson plans... We would much rather save those trees and have wonderful books in our room at all times.

Week 22
It's week twenty two. Our focus is on the letter P and number 16. I also would like to really focus on names. A lot of the students can write their name. If that is the case with your encourage them to start writing their last name as well. If your child isn't to this level yet help them by telling them what letters are in their name. Let the child memorizes this. Then have them write each letter, you might have to show them how to write certain letters they may struggle with. Have them practice this when it is convenient for you. By the time your child leaves my room we want them to be writing their first and last name.
Also... I know life is busy and unfortunately it's always going to be that way... because life just isn't fair :) However I want to encourage you to savor the little things. Really spend time with your children at home. I'm not a mom yet but I do handle 16 four years everyday for 7 hours sometimes 10. It's not always easy. In fact, at times, it is really {REALLY} hard. But next time you are at home maybe in the kitchen ask your child to help you. Maybe count some items for you or spell out the ingredients in the recipe you are making. Or when you are out and about shopping ask your child questions, talk to them, wonder with them about why things are spelled certain ways, or why we stop at stop signs & red lights.... how come the lights are red, green, and yellow? I don't know. Do you? Let's research it.... Things like this are so beneficial to a child's development.
This week we are wrapping up the month of January and welcoming the month of February. This month both Tripp & myself have a birthday. Mine is on the 12th and his is on the 14th. Our topics of learning this upcoming month will be
Valentine’s

Week 21 Summary
This week our class.....
enjoyed a science lesson. We are so grateful for Mrs. Dianne Philippi!
Mrs. Dianne Philippi came from Meridian today to our science lab. She is a retired science teacher, and she loved being back working with students today! She did a lesson on magnets, and the kids had so much fun! They learned about magnets having north and south poles, and how they attract and oppose one another. They also learned that items with iron are attracted to magnets. We are so thankful to Mrs. Dianne for taking to the time to come and do science with us!
We also continued creating our LETTER ART. Ostrich starts with an O
Our Chinese friends came to visit.
They taught us about Chinese New Year! It's the year of the dragon
Next week we will be discussing the number 16, the letter P, and much more. We are LOVING the new curriculum but it is an adjustment so we haven't conquered the routine just yet. Our parent luncheon to discuss the curriculum was Tuesday and from what I heard went well. I hope all that wanted to attend could be there.
See you Monday

Happy 100th Day of School!
Sometimes I think we enjoy this more than the kids do! In honor of our 100th day of school we dressed as if we were 100 years old. So did our students...
We are celebrating with 100 cupcakes
SO fun! This afternoon, after nap, we will wear our ZERO TO HERO capes and eat cupcakes! I will update this post tomorrow with pictures from that. The kids have had a blast with this. I can't wait to share with you our 100th day of school book :)
It's tomorrow and here are the rest of our 100th day celebration pictures
Tomorrow we will be back in our daily routine!
If you live in the area you are probably suffering from lack of sleep due to this...
It may look weak but boy was it bad. Waking up to the sound of tornado sirens at 3:30 am is not my idea of a good nights rest. I don't know about you but I am hoping to be in bed by 8:00 tonight.
Happy Monday
