Week 25 Summary

Keep the homework coming. This is great practice :)

We are worse than department stores when it comes to promoting holidays early

Somewhere over the rainbow....
Here is a look at some of our art activities this week. Hard to believe next week we welcome a new month! Slow down, time.

Our letter focus will be T and our number will be 20. We may use the next week as a review since we haven't done that in awhile. We also start a new creative curriculum study about buildings! This will be lots of fun. We encourage you to be apart of this... check for notes in your child's mailbox next week on details.

Have a great weekend!

Week 25

It's President's Day!!!! Unlike some of you we are in school. This week we are talking about our presidents (past and current) as well as our teeth. Our letter of focus is S and our number is 19. We are moving right along!

I mentioned in Friday's post to watch out for sickness. Well, it hit me Friday night at about 10:00... stomach bug :( That is no way to spend a weekend. Fortunately I am feeling much better and back on the grind today.

Wishing all of you a very happy week!

Week 24

I'm baaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! I had all intentions of kicking this post off with pictures... however, my computer is telling me there are no pictures on my phone which is not true SO maybe next week it will work, we will see.

Our Valentine's party was Tuesday as was Tripp's birthday! It was a CRAZY busy day. We ate piles upon piles of sugar and enjoyed every minute of it. We also passed out 16 student's Valentine's .... 16 kids had to pass out 16 Valentine's ... that is 256 cards, wowza!!

On Wednesday we took a trip to the fitness center on Campus where we explored the facility and took part in a fitness class. Ms. Rebecca (trips mom/fitness guru) taught us about staying healthy and exercising. The kids had a ball. I can't wait to post pictures!

Please be on the look out for symptoms of strep throat and/or flu. We are very generous with everything at the Campus School including our germs and we have confirmed cases of both!

I hope you all escape the illnesses and have a wonderful relaxing weekend

Happy Birthday

... to me! Not really but kinda. You see my birthday is actually the 12th but since this will be my last day until Valentine's Day my co workers showered me with presents today. I am so thankful for them and all their thoughtfulness! Thank you guys SO much

Roses are red....

From Ms. Annie:

Today in science we talked about Valentine’s Day and why we have it. Ms. Annie read the book Valentine Surprise, and we discussed things that we do for others on that holiday.  We said that sometimes people get flowers on Valentine’s, and we wanted to see if  we could make white carnations turn red.  Ms. Annie put red food coloring into a cup of water, and we talked about how the water travels up the stem to the flower.  We are going to check the flower later today and tomorrow to see if there is a change in the color.  We also made hearts out of chenille sticks, that will hopefully turn out to be crystallized hearts! We mixed Borax with boiling water and dropped the hearts in the water using a string and a pencil.  We can’t wait to see on Thursday if they are crystallized!

It is February and we are LOVING it. This month we have two birthdays, mine(12) and Tripp's (14) .This week our focus is Valentine's Day, the letter Qq, and the number 17. Since I will be out of town Thursday Friday and Monday this will be the only blog update until next Friday and it will be jam-packed. Next week we have C.W.A.P. and our class Valentine's party all on top of catching up :) Should be fun.

To hold you over on pictures I took some this morning during stations :)

Week 22 Summary

Look at those writing skills! I am so impressed by the progress of these babies. They have come so far. This week I thought it would be fun to see how they did with guided reading. Ms. Kim let me borrow some of her introductory to sight words books. My students loved them! These are the very repetitive story books with simple words "See Spot Run." Once we finish every letter in the alphabet we will dig deeper with this.

How precious are they? We LOVE music!!!!

We had lots of fun predicting whether or not the groundhog would see his shadow or not.

Another week has passed. Next weeks focus: letter Q, number 17, and exercise/heart health. We will be making a mini field trip to our fitness center across campus where Ms. Rebecca will show us around and maybe even lead us in a group exercise class. Stay tuned!
