Week 13 Wheels & Transportation

I did not forget the Fall Fest post I promised.... You see, I left my computer at a friends house this weekend and ALL my pictures are on my computer. As soon as I get my hands on it (which should be tonight) I will 1. Email you a link to our Kodak gallery with ALL of the pictures 2. Post about our class and all the fun we had at fall fest. However, I know as you are reading this you are probably thinking, is she telling the truth this time? No really I am... scouts honor!

November is tomorrow... yes it's true TOMORROW! Our theme for the month is WHEELS and this week we are talking about different modes of transportation. During our lesson time students brainstormed different types of transportation all the way from cars to hot air balloons!

This morning we had Dr. Tammie Brown, also a professor from the COE at UWA, come and do a Science Halloween Lab with the kids. This morning they made an icky goo

I also was a student of Dr. Brown's. She is the science queen and oh so creative! This project is NOT TO BE EATEN!!!!!!! Hey, there wouldn't be rules if people didn't break them :) This afternoon Dr. Brown is coming back to make paper plate skeletons with each class. We absolutely love when our COE professors take time out of their busy schedules to play with us.

More post to come throughout the week so stay tuned!

iLove Technology & Collaboration

Finally, finally, FINALLY........ UWACS is officially the proud owner of SIX iPods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm a little excited? Last Thursday afternoon Dr. Laurie Fowler from the college of education came over to introduce them to my students....

It was love at first sight! Oh the fun we will have with these little guys. As of right now Dr. Fowler will be responsible for finding apps and syncing the iPods. She will come once a week to work with the students. We are thrilled. Dr. Fowler is great at what she does, I know because I had her as a professor in both my undergraduate and graduate classes. Thank your Dr. Fowler!

What fun C.W.A.P. brings!

Incase you couldn't tell already.... I piece this post together throughout the entire week. I usually wait to post on Friday's but since tomorrow is our Fall Fest and I know it is going to be CRAZY I am posting today.

Thursday- is music day and I wanted to show you all what the students have been working on. Please give a warm welcome and round of applause for UWA's Campus School K 4 singing The School Rules Blues

This idea of having our school rules as a song was brought about in a faculty meeting a couple of weeks ago and Ms. Poole wasted no time creating the lyrics and tune. We are so thankful to have her on board. Eventually we would like to create a video using this song and our students' as the actors to SHOW us what our school rules look like when we obey them. We wanted to do this so that every morning we can have a morning assemble to set the tone for the day and it helps us implement good behavior in a positive/fun way.

Next post will be full of pictures from FALL FEST! All students are encouraged to wear their costume to school tomorrow.... I can't wait!
