Here is an update on our Hundred Penny Box Project! A copy of this will also be in mailboxes today. For this be a success we really need your participation :)
“The Hundred Penny Box”
All About ME!
Dear Sweet Campus School Parents, Families and Friends,
We are ecstatic to have the new school year underway. We miss some of our old friends, but we also have many new friends to get to know.
We are focusing on Literacy at The Campus School this year and the children are reading and writing in our classes every day. We have begun our year with a unit called “All About Me!”
The College of Education senior block students are working closely with the CS kids and planning many Reading and Language Arts projects for the year. This week, we are reading a Caldecott Honor story by Sharon Bell Mathis entitled The Hundred Penny Box. Can you guess what it is about? You may hear about it soon! We will be asking the CS children to begin their very own Hundred Penny Boxes in a variety of different ways, but all they need to start with is:
a penny for each year since they were born AND… a story about each year.
You may also share pictures or other small memorabilia, as they will display this project in several different ways. You might want to interview grandparents and other family as well as moms, dads and siblings.
As with our Recycling project from the Spring semester, we will display our project in the College of Education in Bibb Graves Hall, so we hope to impress them with the timelines of our lives.
Thank you for all you do!
Miss Dr. Minear :-)
